Exploring photosynthetic diversity for sustainability

Life on Earth depends on photosynthesis to convert sun light into energy-rich biomass and to produce oxygen. Our group studies fundamental aspects of photosynthesis because understanding organisms is critical to improving them for the benefit of human kind in a changing world. We explore the photosynthetic diversity of plants, algae, and cyanobacteria by genome mining, in silico prediction, in vivo evaluation and synthetic innovation.
